The 7 Pillars of YMTG Church
Our Values. Our Culture. Our Way of Life.
At YMTG Church, we believe that church is more than a Sunday gathering. It is a people who choose to live according to the ways of God – at home, in relationships, in purpose, in character, and in the way we serve the world.
These 7 Pillars represent the values we choose to build our lives and our church upon. Every pillar is important. Together, they help us become a healthy, strong, kingdom-minded people who carry the love and power of God wherever we go.
1. PRESENCE
Choosing to live aware of God.
Presence begins with choosing to cultivate a relationship with God every day. We don’t simply visit His presence; we learn to live from His presence.
* Choosing to spend time in the Word
* Choosing to spend time in prayer
* Choosing to remain aware of His love
We believe that everything we do flows from our relationship with God.
2. POSTERITY
Choosing to build our family.
Posterity is about valuing family and intentionally building a legacy that can be passed on to the next generation.
* Choosing to honour our parents
* Choosing to love our spouse
* Choosing to steward our children
We don’t just live for today. We build families, relationships, and values that will impact generations after us.
3. PEOPLE
Choosing to value people and build healthy relationships.
Church is not just a place we attend; it is a family we belong to. We choose honour, connection, encouragement, and healthy conflict resolution.
* Choosing to acknowledge and honour leaders — cultivating a heart of honour for leaders and valuing the church
* Choosing to build meaningful connections – developing brotherhood and sisterhood, remaining offence-free, and learning healthy conflict resolution
* Choosing to cultivate a culture of encouragement and feedback
We believe healthy people build healthy churches, and healthy relationships require intentionality.
4. PURPOSE
Choosing to live for the will of God.
Every believer has a purpose. We want to discover God’s will, heal the narratives that shape us, and faithfully steward whatever He places in our hands.
* Choosing to be kingdom-minded — pursuing the will of God, both His general will and His specific will for our lives
* Choosing to heal our narratives — allowing God to heal our hearts and learning to see ourselves and our circumstances through His truth and perspective
* Choosing to be excellent — giving our best and being faithful with even the smallest assignments
Purpose is not simply about what we accomplish. It is about becoming the people God has called us to be while faithfully doing what He has placed before us.
5. PURITY
Choosing to live with freedom, vulnerability, and integrity.
Purity is about living authentically and freely before God and people. It means allowing God to bring health to our minds, words, relationships, and choices.
* Choosing to walk in freedom — pursuing health in our minds and mouths and freedom from anything that holds us back
* Choosing to be vulnerable — valuing our stories, being brave enough to share, and asking for help when we need it
* Choosing to value integrity — being authentic in our stories, finances, conversations, and everyday choices
We don’t hide our struggles; we bring them into the light and allow God to transform us.
6. POWER
Choosing to live from the supernatural reality of God.
We believe the Christian life is supernatural. God’s power is not simply something we talk about; it is something we learn to carry and release.
* Choosing to live from the mind of Christ — thinking and believing in the supernatural, living from hope, solving problems, and bringing solutions
* Choosing to heal the sick — bringing the Kingdom of God and learning to live in divine health
* Choosing to prophetically encourage people — seeing people through God’s eyes and releasing prophetic words that build lives and break lies
We want to be a people who don’t merely talk about what God can do but confidently demonstrate His goodness wherever we go.
7. PROSPERITY
Choosing to steward God’s resources with wisdom and generosity.
We believe prosperity is not simply about having more. It is about becoming faithful stewards of everything God entrusts to us so that we can live generously and advance His Kingdom.
* Choosing to be a giver — practising the tithe, sowing seed, and stewarding Kingdom finances
* Choosing to be debt-free — recognising that God is our source, saying no to debt, and learning to stay out of debt
* Choosing to increase — growing in wisdom, saving, stewarding, investing, developing our skills, and multiplying what God has entrusted to us
Our goal is not simply to accumulate. We increase so that we can steward more, give more, and accomplish more for the Kingdom.
As we choose these values individually, we build them collectively. And as we build them collectively, we become the kind of church that carries God’s presence, reflects His heart, demonstrates His power, and impacts generations.
